Combine the old city with one nearby addition. Bellver Castle offers views and history but sits uphill; use a taxi or city bus and check its official closure day. A beach stop can also work, provided you choose a practical location and allow time to change, rinse off and find return transportation.

Another good six-hour day pairs a reserved cathedral visit with the old town and a long lunch. Palma rewards this slower approach, especially in summer when the midday heat can make an overfilled walking plan miserable.

Eight usable hours can support one island excursion. Valldemossa is a popular mountain-village choice; Sóller can be reached by road or historic rail, but the celebrated journey creates schedule dependencies.
